White sandals + White coat

Last summer, I fell into an unrequited love with Birkenstocks.
They were hideous and wonderful. They were equally loved by my dad and my favorite fashion bloggers. They were my perfect ugly shoe, but they were too expensive for me to justify buying.

Flash forward to this spring. I'm browsing Instagram (follow me, yo! @fashiontoa.t), anda miracleI happen to find someone wearing a cheap knock-off Target version. And oh my goodness, I WAS SO UP FOR THAT.

$25 for these white babies, and they're not just a piece of cardboard! No real Birks, I'm sure, but they're actually pretty comfy (I've worn them at least 4 times this week, so I can accurately vouch for this).

Here's one way I styled them this week! (This outfit also acted as a fix for wearing this way-too-short Free People dress that I splurged on last year. *insert crying cat emoji* I couldn't even tell you if I got taller or the dress shrank. Both are pretty likely, in my case.)

Guess what else? I bought my prom dress today from my favorite consignment shop. $38, and it's pretty killer (and no one else will have it!).

Don't sweat it. Or do. But not really. What?

Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest? That means sweats, right?

Today I went for a kinda weird combo of almost-see-through sweat pants, Nike socks and high heeled booties (yes, today I am tall. I know). I can never figure out what shirt to wear with these DKNY pants, but eventually decided to go with a Jawbreaking top that my sister bought for me a little while back.

And then I had to try and copy my shirt with my own face, because that's just what you do when there's a face on your shirt.

Mom jeans and pink

At first I was against the normcore-inspired mom jean, but to be honest they've grown on me.
I'm sort of a sucker for semi ugly things (exhibit A, my lovely PT Cruiser), so I'm not completely surprised I've turned around.

I bought this sweet pair at a Goodwill, so (1) they actually could be real mom jeans. Like, from off a mom. That makes me authentic or something, right? And (2) I am the worst thrift shopper ever, so the fact that these fit me is a miracle that needed to be taken advantage of.

I played up my momma pants by styling them with a pair of hot pink heels and a wrinkly-but-really-close-to-matching shirt.

If a Vintage Mom Barbie were a thing, I feel like it would look a bit like this.

Side note: I made an instagram account just for my blog! Look me up: @fashiontoa.t
I'm following barely anyone on there right now, so help me get connected! :)

eShakti Review | Customizable Clothing

10:02 AM Theresa 3 Comments

I was so excited when, a few weeks ago, a representative from the online women's customizable clothing store eShakti.com emailed me about doing a review of one of their products. I'm always up for finding new online stores to shop at, so I figured I'd give them a chance, and I'm glad I did, because I'm love with this skirt!

The unique thing about eShakti is their customizable options. After finding a dress/top/bottoms/etc.  that you like, you're given the option to customize in two ways: you can fit the product to yourself by entering in your body measurements, or you can change some part of the garment (for example, you can make it longer, make it shorter, or take away the sleeves, among other options).

I always get anxiety ordering clothes online since I never know what will fit me (I'm almost 5'10, so things always come too short and strangely proportioned on my body), and I hate being stuck with a product that I can't wear.
I decided that I was all for adding in my own measurements to get the perfect fit.

The skirt I chose arrived at my house in 11 days! It came with this cute striped belt, but I'm horrible at tying fabric belts, so I used my own instead.

I was honestly impressed by the quality of the skirt I received, and as promised, it fit me very well. I was afraid, at first, that the quality wouldn't be as good as it could be since it had to have been made pretty quickly and specifically just for me. However, this didn't seem to be a problem (yay! Custom made clothing that doesn't take forever to ship!).

With the customization factor added in, it ended up reminding me a lot of the clothing I wish I could have sewn in all the apparel courses I took. I promise you, I inspected this skirt thoroughly (because I'm that kind of person), and it passed all my tests.

Plus it had pockets. I love pockets.

It seems like the store has a lot of promotional deals (a $40 gift coupon today when you register?) that are awesome to take advantage of, so if you're looking for some new spring clothes you should check it out! It's especially good if you like retro inspired clothing! :)

Plus, you can use the code 'FASHIONTOA' to get 10% off of your purchase at eShakti.com until 4/28!**
