Sideways + backwards through time + space

If you follow me on any social media (twitter | instagram), you'll know that I went on an adventure yesterday!

Two friends and I drove to downtown Raleigh (the NC capital, for those who don't know) to go check out the history and science museums--although, to be honest, we spent like 10 minutes in the history building before crossing the road to check out space and dinosaur exhibits. There's a butterfly room at the museum with real live butterflies, but it was unfortunately closed when we arrived. It would have made for some awesome pictures.

One of the best parts of today was the fact that in every single one of my pictures, my dress was on backwards. How do I wear a dress backwards all day and take pictures in it without noticing? I'm not sure. I did it though, and I guess I'm kind of not surprised.

The jackets on mega sale right now ($103 to $45)! I totally recommend it if you're looking for a coat. It's incredibly warm, and is perfectly huge. The only downside is that the red one I have is definitely more of an orange--you've been warned. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR (almost)!

I don't speak Italian

But I do speak Moschino.
...or at least my sister does.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! I hope you were able to celebrate with loved ones this year. The holiday season is the best season.
My older sister got a Moschino belt (on mega-sale) from our parents, and now she's famous. That's how it works, right? We're also pretty lucky since my entire family is the same size and she can steal my dinky (errrrr DKNY) pants and new jacket to go with. And I forced her to model for me.

Musings about a skirt

If an article of clothing has french seams (i.e., sewn so you can't see the bottom stitches on the outside), I automatically like it 1000 times more. A prime example is this gorgeous ASOS skirt I bought a while back. It's super crisp and completely wonderful, and obviously I can't leave it behind in the colder months just because of the whole "no white after Labor Day" thing (see: the White Witch of Narnia. Yes.). I think a solid 50% of the time, white in the winter sort of makes you look like an ice pixie. I'm a fan of ice pixies. The other 50% of the time I'm not sure what you look like but I can assure you it's something cool.

I decided to counteract my spring-y skirt with a comfy, oversized UO sweater and some nice warm mustard yellow socks. I love socks.
Added bonus: My sister caught a leaf mid-fall in the first picture. Feel free to admire it as you scroll through.
